These items are fairly powerful and you get them right from the start, so you may want to play the game once without completing them first to get a better sense of game balance. Note that some of the DLC (e.g., Witch Hunt, Darkspawn Chronicles, etc.) are separate campaigns but completing them grants items that carry forth into subsequent playthroughs of the main campaign. There is no required order, so you can do them when you like.
